Haniel Anugerah is an Indonesian pianist based in Rochester, New York. He is currently pursuing his DMA in Piano Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where he also earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in piano.
As a performer, Haniel is drawn to repertoire that tells stories, explores vivid sound worlds, and expands the listener's imagination of the piano. His musical interests include classical repertoire, contemporary music, chamber music, electroacoustic works, and underrepresented composers.
In 2025, he was a Piano Fellow at the Mostly Modern Festival and the Tanglewood Music Center, where he performed with the MMF and TMC Orchestras, respectively.

Since 2025, Haniel has also served as Head Graduate Assistant pianist for the Eastman Opera Department, where he supports GA pianists through administrative coordination and rehearsal-related responsibilities while working with conductor Timothy Long.
As a teacher, Haniel works with students of different ages and levels, helping them build strong musical foundations while developing confidence, creativity, and expressive freedom at the piano. Since 2023, he has taught undergraduate Class Piano at the Eastman School of Music, teaching students across all levels.
His teaching emphasizes healthy technique, careful listening, rhythm, musical imagination, and practical practice strategies. He values a supportive, flexible approach that responds to each student's goals, learning style, and musical background.
